Hi. I am looking to set up a fairly simple web site to host some information about our rental property in the Alps (this is the Facebook site my wife set up recently- https://www.facebook.com/androsace24).

Two questions:

Does anyone have any experience with hosting a web site, who are the best/cheapest hosts to use? The site is only going to be simple, with little other than text based descriptions and images.

A few folks have suggested I use Word Press to prepare the web page. I have no experience of Word Press, and am not sure if this is the right route to get what ever functionality I need (http://wordpress.com/). Is it a package I download or a web site I use to prepare the relevant web pages? Is this the correct entry point as it were?

Can anyone recommend a website carrier and email supplier that is reliable and not too expensive? I'm paying some £40 a year to run mine and the email has gone off lately, I'm struggling to set it up on a new PC and the webmail has started bouncing my emails with no warning as it's stuffed. The lack of warning is my main issue. I need to keep the email address, which uses my domain name, as that's in all my publicity.

I've got some dreamweaver-ish skills and can just about navigate…

I don't want to sell through the website, I just use it as a portfolio. I tried gargling Web Carriers and get 1000s of links, they mostly end up on USA sites even though they have UK listings. So - suggestions?

Thanks.
