It should be closed off at the Finsbury. Is that the kind of thing they wanted to know? No, thought not.

John has his own style to address what he believes in good faith are measures that would benefit the area from a public safety perspective. I can't speak for him but I would think that he isn't trying to make light of someone's tragic misfortune.

Clearly it won't help the investigation into this specific accident, but John's argument as I read it is that perhaps addressing the rat run issue sometime in the past may have prevented it.

A lot of commentary is a theme on this site when it comes to traffic matters and possibly the only surprise to many here is that it wasn't Wightman Road where this happened.  I personally would be interested in the specific circumstances as these events are hard for even the council to ignore unless the driver was completely negligent.

Yes exactly. Thanks Knavel.

That is Hackney and I have contacted one of the local councillors there about this. He said that yes it needs to be closed off but there is a big project going on about narrowing Seven Sisters Rd there and this would be part of it. He never responds to my request to allow right hand turns at that main junction though, they like all that traffic heading pointlessly through Harringay.

I'm more talking about preventing the next death by engineering the danger out of this junction.

unless the driver was completely negligent

Or the motorcyclist.

Do you know of something that would bring back a loved one? If the Seven Sisters/Green Lanes junction allowed right hand turns heading north along Green Lanes I definitely think that there would be not more deaths at this junction and it's entire purpose would be rendered useless.

Losing a treasured parent is the main thing actually but I completely understand that you'd be sensitive about they way they died.

I cycle up and down this part of the road daily and have for years as seems so much safer than wightman Rd. I saw the traffic sign up 2days ago asking for any witnesses
So so sad, esp when it’s on your home turf. And yes I would be interested in the circumstances as a learning point, . To be honest always seems pretty safe and I cycle fast down the outside of the traffic but usually plenty of room to get out of the way of cars which don’t see me. A motorcyclist who has even more power etc to manoeuvre makes it even more shocking
