Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi everyone,

There's going to be a "Scandi chic" Music on the Ladder concert on at St Paul's Church (on Wightman Rd, near Harringay train station on Wednesday, 5 July at 8pm.

Agnethe Christensen - voice, nordic lyres, bells
Clare Salaman - nickelharpa (Swedish keyed fiddle)
Leah Stuttard - bray harp, bells, voice
Celebrating St John the Baptist and Midsummer at the same time - a very important festival in Scandinavia.

Festivities welcoming the warmth of the sun and long long days, with medieval ballads and sacred songs for St John the Baptist whose nativity coincides with the solstice. With lively dances and gentle lilting tunes, medieval stories, hymns and motets, this concert will be a varied and convivial celebration of the Scandinavian and indeed, pan-European connection of pagan festival with Christian Saint.

With music by Orlando Gibbons, Guillaume Dufay, Gilles de Bins dit Binchois, Orlando de Lasso, Heinrich Isaac and plenty of anonymous!

Free admission with retiring collection, refreshments available afterwards.

Hope to see you there!

Bethany (Director of Music, St. Paul's, Harringay)
