The Local History Fair takes place at Bruce Castle Museum

A programme of interesting short talks in the Lecture Hall (each lasts 20-30 minutes):

  • 11.15am - For the Citizens of Tomorrow: maternity and child health in Haringey before the NHS

  • 11.55am - The Molly Spoon Archive: uncovering hidden Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) histories

  • 12.35pm - Film - Now and Then -Tottenham High Road
    By the Tottenham Young Heritage Ambassadors

1pm-2pm - Lunch break

  • 2pm - Tottenham Palace - a history
    Marlene McAndrew of the Friends of Bruce Castle introduces her new publication
  • 2.40pm - The New River
    By Rachael Macdonald of the New River Action Group

3.10pm - Tea break

  • 3.30pm - Wood Green Through Time
    Albert Pinching of the Hornsey Historical Society presents his new publication
  • 4.10pm - First World War Commemorative Projects in Haringey
    With Deborah Hedgecock, Curator of Bruce Castle Museum, and others

The Archives Search Room will be open 11am - 4pm

There will be a small display of archives and an opportunity to ask staff about researching local history and family history.
