Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Haringey Rated as One of Worst Boroughs in UK for Care Home Quality
Charity Independent Age has used data published by the Care Quality Commission to calaculate that Haringey is one of the worst perfroming boroughs in the country as far as care home quality s concerned.
In a table ranking the percentatge of homes on each borough rated as “Requires Improvement” or “Inadequate” Haringey came 13th from bottom across boroughs nationwide. In London only Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster did worse.
Just over eight years ago I attended a meeting about the state of social care in Haringey which rather pulled at my heart strings. Things haven't got any better.
So here's a challenge for the new administration. Can they do anything about this woeful state of affairs.

That’s a real shocker - a third of all care homes in Haringey were inadequate or required improvement. Contrast that with Southwark, which is demographically similar but had no care homes at all in this category.
