Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I dig trees: *FREE* trees for community groups from TCV (or find out where you can volunteer to plant)

TCV have 2,700 packs of 50 trees suitable for a variety of terrain from large trees for parkland to small shrubs to give away FREE

They also offer a chance for people to volunteer at a location close by to plant trees.

Find out how to register your community group (or yourself as a volunteer) here

do you  have anything suitable as street trees?  we have a few empty tree pits on our  streets which are unlikely to get filled in the near future,

thanks
Nick

The dept at Haringey Council responsible for street trees is actually quite proactive. They have a rolling programme of replacing trees but will wait a couple of years before replacing so that any disease in a tree pit will disappear. If your street trees are not due for renewal then contact them and see if they will replace the trees when it is the right season for tree planting as they are not always aware of every streets needs.

Hi Nick, I'm only passing on the info here and am not connected to this project.

Just to underline Maggie's point, the council are responsible for street trees and will probably replace in good time. If you put your own trees in a pit, they are likely to remove them as they tend to only use short life, dwarf species trees these days.

There's nothing to stop you putting a few flowers in the pits in the meantime though. At this time of year, cyclamen look nice.
