Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Karate for Kids- Recommendation/Advice Needed

As those of you who know me, you will know we have a 6 year old with a fair bit of energy to spare.  So we figured karate might help him use some of this energy while also learning a lot of the skills (patience, self control, balance, reflexes etc) that comes with karate.

I have done a quick look to see what is going on locally by way of karate classes, but does anyone have any experience of their kids being at a local karate club? Any recommendations?

My sons teacher does classes at North harringay on a weds evening and a Sunday afternoon while I haven't taken him to those classes I know other parents who have ( he teaches my son as an after school club organised by the school) he is senses Ali and the club is sbj the phone no is07904 774708

Hello. I have 2 boys aged 6&10 and I was feeling like that last year I wanted a discipline for them to help them grow string and fit but enjoy doing it. I found The Marshal arts place in Stoke Newington it takes about 15 mins from Harringay in the car and it is the most amazing place. The senseis are young lads about 20 odd and they are brilliant with the kids they shake their hands when they come in and talk to them they do loads of warm ups including lots of cardio and fitness then some little routines kicking the punch bags .
My oldest was quite uncoordinated when he started and after a few weeks he improved so much but more importantly they love to go which is rare I think the classes run all week and all weekend it's not cheap but well worth the money and they are not allowed to misbehave . We called up and spoke to them you go for a free taster lesson and see if it's for you if it is you can join up and pay and that's it. I have rambled on but I am so happy I found it

Thanks Helen and Tina. I will have a chat with Osbawn and see if we can coordinate as our kids know each other... I will check the both out.

My son briefly went in Chestnut Community centre. We're not sure of the day but we think it was Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
