Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I often use seven sisters in my commute to work. I recently realised that JUST WHERE THE 41 stops when I arrive at seven sisters station there is a café which never seems to have many people in it. Costa is of course always rammed. The staff at Café Desa are nice, and you get a proper coffee and a "free" croissant coming in at £1.70.

So if you're there, hold off going to Costa, and try out this new place! I have a totally vested interest here which is that I want the place to stay open to I can keep getting fantastic value breakfast on my way to work! NB I had a baguette the other day to hit the card minimum spend and it was also v nice (no mayo which is a very good thing if your tastebuds work like mine)

Just thought a map might help.

You can also walk another 20 yards past the first tube stairway and pop into the Indoor Market, there are four places there that will sell you fine Colombian coffee for much less that Costa, and they pay their taxes too.

Oooh good tip thank you!
I quite agree on Cafe Desa and the fine Colombian coffee but I don't believe it's fair to equate Costa with Starbucks

Thanks for this, I usually cross WG road just before the bus stop to avoid the bus crowd/narrow pavement! Will investigate - mayo in everything is my bugbear too.

There's also Cafe Lemon. I had brunch there the other day and have been meaning to blog about it.  Not a place I would travel for but it's my local pick.

Pity that their signage is just so craply, prosaicly mediocre! In this conservation area they have not really contributed to improving the way the shopping parade looks, with their overbearingly ugly plastic signage. Harsh but true! And after the work done on a few shop fronts by You and Me!
It's much better than the previous incarnation, which was black and glittery iirc, like all of those other dessert places popping up all over the place. It only lasted a week before it burned down though.
