Hmm, could it be a type of Echinacea? Probably not.

It looks like West Indian spinach to me, but going to seed a little early, need fast-growing plenty of water and high nitrogen feed.

Taken today... the diagnosis of 'Amaranth' is looking good.... thanks for the suggestions.
