Prize for community event

Hi All

I'm from the group Haringey school Unions. We posted on HoL about a week or two ago: http://www.harringayonline.com/forum/topics/haringey-school-unions

We've now received quite a lot of interest from pupils as well as parents and carers in this initiative. And we will be testing this out for one of the Secondary schools in the borough.

We do not charge any fees to be involved with the School Union, and we are intending on having a social event (which is going to be a competition) for the pupils involved very soon. We have costs covered for the event itself, but we're looking to offer prizes which we don't have the costs covered for!

Obviously these prizes must be something Secondary School age / Sixth Form pupils are interested in. I'm thinking of asking some of the local Businesses whether they'd be willing to donate something which would be used as a Prize (gift voucher, meal etc).

I know which of the Big Businesses to approach (Cineworld, Sainsbury's etc.) but would like some suggestions of Local Businesses who would be likely to provide a small prize (could be food vouchers, clothes vouchers etc.)

Does anyone have any recommendations of any local Businesses who would be receptive to this sort of thing; and would be worth approach regarding this? 

From past experience, which local Businesses tend to get involved with local community events?
