Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

"Exciting plans for Wood Green’s Haringey Heartlands site – offering more than 1,700 homes, a new open space and an abundance of employment opportunities – got the go-ahead last night from Haringey Council planners."

Uncle Joe manages to get vital, exciting, vibrant, and full of life into one sentence.  Ambitious takes another line.

Good god almighty.

1,700 flats with indications of interest for the best from foreign buyers in Dubai and Hong Kong.

curious as to why when there is mention of redevelopment is there always negative responses, are you happy with Wood Green as it is at the moment?

OK, redevelopment is great. Going off to Dubai and Hong Kong and selling them there FIRST is just absolutely bloody criminal. Also, let's say you're a couple who both work in the city and are 30 odd years old. Without help from a relative, you'll have to rent one of these from a landlord in another country. It's not development, it's not homes for the children of Europe, let alone even Britain, it's bank accounts for wealthy foreigners and opportunities to flip.

sorry I missed the best will go to buyers in Dubai and HK where is the source for that?

There is a development by Hornsey station with plenty of availability did these got marketed in Dubai and HK? with Help to Buy they will sell and not everyone will be city workers never mind getting the money from a relative, they would probably be similar price to a wood green development

Buy to let is done for now in this country thus first time buyers is the highest for a decade. The average price of a property in London is falling and if you want to "flip" a property I would look elsewhere

what is currently on this land? an unused estate? what would you like to realistically happen to the proposed location as an alternative?

I think that's very good news and should have a positive impact in the much needed area.

Good news for all struggling 30+ yr old City slaving couples with stingy relatives. I've just acquired 5,000 slightly used but generously proportioned residential apartments on several of the  Burj Khalifa's middle floors. In the outward spirit of Brexit you will expect to 'work from home' but with annual nostalgic flights back to Haringey and City of London. Indications of interest welcomed.

Just went on the website of the development. Looks terrific. Reusing the Gasholders is a good call.

Also the firm working on the landscape components is the one who did Kings Cross and Google's UK headquarters public realms. Looks very promising indeed.
