Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all. My kitten is coming to that age where a certain little operation is required, and to lessen the stress, I'd like to take him somewhere as local as possible (I'm near the N15/N16 border just off Seven Sisters Road).

For jabs in the past, I've taken him up to Goddards in Tottenham which seems to be an excellent practice, but it was a bit of a trek and I think there may be some nearer places, possibly Abbeyvet in Stamford Hill. Has anyone been there, and what did you think? I'm really nervous about this as it's my kitty's first proper op.

Any other places recommended?

thanks all

I've used Abbey Vets for years - first in Dalston then the Stamford Hill branch. Have always found them to be fine with my cats. The receptionists in particular seem to be animal/pet lovers and to understand the traumas our pets put us through.

Nothing is cheap, I never seemed to get out for less than fifty quid, with the cost of drugs. Going to the vet just reminds me of how lucky we are to have the NHS.

Parking there is tricky on the High Road, it's a red route - from the north I turn off two turnings before and the one-way brings you back round to the road north of the vet, this has free parking unless Hackney have changed the rules. Could never face taking cats on the bus, though it is a simple journey from Seven Sisters.

That all sounds good, thank you. When I was ringing round vets for the cost of jabs these guys did stand out as being a bit more expensive than most of the others, but if they are good at what they do (and I think they are my most local) then that isn't a huge problem.

I don't drive (hence wanting a very local practice) so parking not an issue, but will probably get a cab from SSR. Should be quick!

We also used Abbeyvet and found them professional and pleasant.  The bus stops very nearby if you do take that route.

These things are definitely worth knowing! Thank you.

PS I love to think I live in SoTo!  Clearly N15 is on the up.

Haha! Mostly I think it's just a funny acronym but hey we can dream! I'll believe it when we get our own cafe moka.

We also use Abbeyvet and are very happy with them. The veterinary nurses in particular are lovely at the Stamford Hill branch. They also have a couple of other branches, so if you need medication or treatment urgently over the weekend there is always a branch open somewhere in north London.

PS if you're travelling from South Tottenham (boggling at the thought of SoTo) the Stamford Hill branch is also about a minute from a bus stop where the 149, 76, 73, 476 etc stop. So quite easy to do without a taxi.
