Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Throw your hat in the ring to make the Harringay Festival go with a swing

With a following wind, it looks like we're going to be able to build a fantastic Harringay Street Festival this September 20th. I've been insisting that as well as support from the Council and traders, a significant element should be by and of "we the people". It'll be as great as we make it.

So if you'd like to join the team, let us know. Broadly at this stage the options are to offer help:

- in the months running up to the festival in helping to get things organised.
- on the day.
- in staging or using your contacts/know-how to arrange an event/interesting stall/street act on the day.
- by arranging a satellite event on the 18th or 19th. (Events organised under the banner of the festival probably by local groups Adam Coffman has already spoken to the schools, Railway Fields and the. Salisbury who are all interested in putting on some events/entertainment. We've also got various artists/art collectives, local historians and a host of other local groups and talent.)

So, roll-up, roll-up Harringay, get your hat in the ring.

Put me down as a pair of hands on the day Hugh
Great, thanks Michael.
Anne,
Nora, Adam & myself are popping down to the Salisbury Monday night (30th March) 9:15pm to start discussions regards music for the Festival. Join us if you like.
Sounds great. Nora, looking forward to seeing you on stage!

Seems like there's a good deal of local talent & enthusiasm about. Plenty for fringe events and the main stage on the Sunday too.
Count me in too for help planning and on the day. See you at the next meeting.

Lots of great ideas flying around... has anyone been touch with local schools yet about how they might get involved?
That's great Dan. Thanks.

Adam and Liz are in touch with the schools at this stage.

I'm really keen for us to get as many local groups involved as possible. So if anyone knows any who should be tipped the wink. Let's get them involved asap.
Hugh, I believe the Haringey Neighbourhood Watch Committee usually like to show a presence at any local Festivals. Something like a prominent stall with a few members for publicity rather than 'evangelisation' purposes. I'll ask Pauline Syddell or Ian whether they would be interested.

As for me, I'll go along with whatever WRN4RA decide to contribute.
Thanks, that'd be great.
Love the click through image on the front page.

For all members;

Details of first Harringay Festival Group meeting. It will be held at the Salisbury. All welcome.

Do join the Harringay Festival Group.

If you want to come along to a brief first meeting regards provision of live music for the festival, pop along to the Salisbury Monday night (30th March), 9:15pm.
That'll be a useful group for planning, once the festival has final confirmation.
Thanks Hugh. Yes, that's what it's for. I've been told today that it is confirmed. Good news.
That's great news.
