Loft conversion / builder recommendations

Hi, I have plans drawn up for and want to do a loft conversion on my house in the N4 area, starting the work very soon.

Does anyone on here have any recommendations for some good builders (good at structural work and internal fit outs)?

I don't really need an 'all in one' loft conversion company as I have the plans already, but do need a first class builder.

Has anyone used Sunshine Lofts (I see their van and signs around the area quite a bit)?

Any recommendations appreciated.

I didn't go with Dan James in the end. They seemed good when they came round and their references that I spoke to and me with were all very good and they all spoke highly of them.

However, when I asked Dan James some questions about their quote and asked them to clarify a few things, I never heard a thing back from them, despite me chasing them quite a few times. It was a bit odd really, particularly as they had such good references and seemed professional. It might have just been that they operate on a set basis and so weren't interested in having to make any changes to their standard arrangements and deal with a customer like me.

Thanks, that's really useful. Would you feel ok about telling me who you did use and if you were happy with them? have you heard anything about Build Team?

Same experience as me, specific questions, no reply. I have friends who have used Dan James and all were happy, but I think they must have so much work they don't need to deal with anything out of the usual loft conversion. I've gone with Another Level, but waiting for Haringey council to confirm at their end before I can give the go ahead. Oh the joy

From asking around recently I know that a fair few of them, and Dan James and Another Level in particular, have fairly hefty waiting lists of anything up to 6 months

Thanks. We're dividing the house into two now our children are leaving. So its an extension and division.

Dan James does seem busy. Its so hard to find someone who is recommended and still available! Thanks for your help with this - appreciated. L
