Car Jumpers on Warham Road damaging cars - Report to Police

Hi,

Last night we had car jumpers on Warham Road damaging several cars incl ours by jumping on them and denting them (bonnets etc).

I reported our damage to the police and the officer asked me to ask everyone affected to also call 101, report the damage and link it to our Ref Number which is 2830376/17

Also if anyone has CCTV pointing to the street it'd be great if you could share the tape. I estimate it happened between 3-5am.

Finally if anyone has a good recommendation for a mechanic, it'd be great if you could let us know.

Thank you all

Dominik

Hi-yes my father’s car bonnet was badly damaged. We reported it to the police but were given a different reference number. I’ve now linked it with the one above. A neighbour reported that two girls, who were part of the group, were filming the incident.

sorry to hear Rachel. Do you think the neighbour can describe the ppl involved?

My brother's car was also damaged. His wing mirror was completely smashed and left hanging off. He has reported it and was given a reference number, but it has also been linked to the one in the original post.

Do you think it could have been "direct action" by young people priced out of motoring and housing? I mean it is very anti-social to park your car in the street, I appreciate most people do it though.

Or even hooligans and vandals ?

Well the cars have been there forever to be targeted by those people and this would be a first. Money on environmentalists and the militant left.

A protest where you hide the intentions.

That's what I said - hooligans and vandals

I would love to remove every car parked in the street in Harringay. I wondered if that was where it was coming from.

No John. That's not where this was coming from. It was a group of vandals deciding to jump on random cars , badly damaging them in the process while impressing a bunch of girls who were filming it so they can share it and feel all proud and "cool". the damages just on Warham Road will probably be in the low £1000s....money those families could have saved or spent on Christmas presents. and whoever is trying to send a "message" using such means is not worth engaging with and should be locked up.

you make reading HOL hard sometimes McMullen

Well I'm completely wrong and I doubt you would have seen what it really was but for me being so wrong as to elicit Dominik's reply. It turns out that the militant anti-car lobby don't exist after all.

I understand though Paul, if this was twitter you would have blocked me.
