The staggering amount of rubbish there is really disheartening in addition to the drunks.

Would like to echo this post. I’ve seen people defecating at 8am. People passed out during the day as if they’ve died. Drug dealing in open view and mess everywhere.

it could be such a nice space but it’s being totally ruined. It’s not Veolia that are needed it’s the police.

Seeing the state of the place early on any Monday morning is depressing.

One morning I tried to talk to a guy urinating next to a tree facing the road and asked him if he realised there were children around. He just grunted at me and not angrily so - I think he was simply too drunk to register anything.

At the risk of getting both the PC brigade and I'm-not-racist-but's on here overly exercised, I've tried to figure out the cultural factors at work in Duckett's Common.

I don't mean any particular culture inspiring the activities there - and certainly a very diverse group of people are represented - but a way of thinking that somehow seems to prevail amongst the users of that little common.

Do they congregate from far and wide to make that mess for some reason? Or are they from around the corner who would do this to whichever green space happened to be closest? I've seen green spaces in far rougher areas that are pristine though.

At a different level similar questions apply to Harringay Green Lanes in general.

Clearing Green Areas is Parks Service .   Veolia Only do streets

Always thought that it Should have Toilet Facilities. Accept many issues with Toilets but sure there are ones where they can me used without miss-use

Not sure of Current Council Policy , but aware there have been times that Police are Not welcome unless a major incident

There are few places they can go as would be moved off streets

Sure it is a issue in most of Borough Green Spaces

Needs a Local group to recycle all the Bottles and Cans

Having a shit right next to a children’s playground is an arrestable offence if you ask me

I do so agree.  It is beyond belief that none of this is regarded as a police matter.

I walk my dog on the common every day it's disgusting I pick my dogs mess up but humans just don't seem to care. It was such a nice place for local people to enjoy but lately it not a nice place to visit.
