Wellington, Queens Head, The Duke, The Goat, The Blackboy, The......??? ( pub that's now st.john vianey's church hall)  and now The Gate...... Nothing til KK's . Sad sad times. """Ghost town""""

The Fox --- ( John viianey church hall)

A glimmer of hope is the owners of True Craft have got the lease for the Lord Palmerston on Phillips Lane and are doing it up at the moment.  More details on the Lord Palmerston thread.

It opened last Thursday, swung by for a pint at the weekend, definitely worth checking out

Awesome news! I'll be nipping down this Sunday.

Wow - missed that, need to pop down

Called "The Palm" if you want to check it out on google maps

Yes. In a way I am kind of OK if 2 average pubs are replaced by one good one. As you may know there  is an overall decline in alcohol consumption and the economics of many pubs simply don’t work hence the large amount of closures and ongoing structural consolidation.

The Palm and the Green Gate, 2 pubs in neglected buildings that haven't been too badly modified - think ex-Botany Bay/Greyhound@ 143 Philip Lane now a 'disfigured' Expa suprette.

If renewal is like what has happened at the ex-West Green Tavern, now True Craft (frequently very busy/full) then there is some hope. Some people may cry "gentrification"!

The Elmhurst on Lordship Lna eis under serious threat too!

But of course you got to use them to love them so that they survive....!

Visited the Palm on Wednesday, nicely renovated, nice crowd, not massively busy but I think it will be once people know about it.  Well worth a visit, and I feel like I have a local now.  Looking forward to using the beer garden in summer

Outstanding stuff Mavic. The Google reviews thus far are excellent, too.

I've invited a couple of craft aficionado friends up for Christmas drinks on Sunday. Waddling to the Palm from Seven Sisters via WG Tavern.

Forgot to say the evening we visited there was a long table reserved for "Tottenham Dads", so the word is spreading.  Try the ale/ porter, sorry didn't get the name but I wanted something close to a Guinness.  Never had it before and it was very nice.
