Living in the past, are we ?

Just because something is old it doesn't necessarily mean it's good. I quite like the new buildings adjacent to Hornsey station.

Want to wallow in the past of this site. Read here.

Look (courtesy Streetview) at these two buildings here on Tottenham's High Rd. Both are located in our Historic Corridor of conservation areas.  The one in the forefront; is that what the new H&G site will be like. I find that acceptbale. The one further down the street is just horrible. Especially when you see what it sits opposite = the listed old Gas offices at 639 High Rd!

The British are so good at design. Why the mediocre designs for bulk housing?

Wow, I've never seen so many white people roam the neighbourhood! It's like going back to Richmond.

It's interesting that so many new builds are now going for brick-style facades. Presumably one reason is that various panel-based systems have rather gone out of fashion since the Grenfell fire & testing that has established that many of them are flammable.

Will the TFL ventilation shaft be concealed by the flats?

The ventilation shaft won't be concealed by the flats as the land is adjacent to Green Lanes. I believe in front of the shaft will be used as a small car park. The promotional pics have trees hiding the shaft from view, take that as you will.
