Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Had my bag stolen on Frobisher Road, at about 4.30pm. Had just passed the alley way, walking home from the tube station. I'd used my phone as I'd come out of the station so may have been followed because of that. He grabbed the bag, and ran down the alley towards Falkland Road.

Do keep an eye out, earlier in the week there were people throwing fireworks at the top of that road.

I am not hurt luckily. Thank you so much to the residents who came out to help and gave me their phone to call the police.

So sorry to hear that Judith. I'm very glad to hear that you're not hurt and thanks for taking the time to come and warn people to be careful.

for two weeks now there has been three men and one girl pick pocketing along the high road n22 i see them up and down the high road i have told the Police and P.C.O but no luck today i witnessed more victims.

Just been another mugging, this one on Falkland Rd by the passage (7pm). The woman attacked managed to fight him off but got her phone taken (not her bag). Description; somali teenager with a 'JD' backpack on his back. He pushed either a lit cigarette or firework in her face as he approached her from the passage. She was walking up Falkland Rd. The police are driving around with her now to try and spot him.

That's two muggings within the space of two hours in the same area so probably the same individual. Judith, do you have any description at all?

So sorry to hear this has happened to you - hope you are both OK. Two in such a short space of time does sound like the same person. Hope the ride round with the police was successful. Are the local Harringay Safer Neighbourhood police team aware?
Very sorry to hear that. My partner was mugged for her phone on our doorstep in Talbot Road, N15 last night about 7,30 pm, so people in the Tottenham Green East area should probably keep an eye out as well.

Many thanks for your supportive comments. The police response was excellent, quick and thorough.

To avoid being targetted their advice is not to get out a mobile phone when walkng along the street and particularly not at the tube station

Went for a meal at the amazing Jai Krishna on Turnpike Lane and someone took a friends bag off the back of her chair. A reminder that bags can be stolen in other ways  - bags should go on laps or right under the table, if not on the person.

A useful reminder. Sorry about your friend.
