Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

As part of Crouch End Festival we are looking for people to help brighten up the area with lots of lovely crochet and knitted pieces which we will use to decorate lampposts and railings for the duration of the Festival in June.

We are launching the project tomorrow (Sunday 18th ) at Hornsey Vale Community Centre  between 2 and 5 p.m. when The Alternative Clothes Show will also be taking place.
Donations of wool + ideas + enthusiasm are needed to produce squares, circles, oblongs or any shape you can knit or crochet to help brighten up the area. Along with the Bunting project which will be repeated again this year, we want to banish the grey and cover the area with colour!.

Here's a couple of small examples of what we can do but lots and lots of eager crocheters and knitters are needed if we are to achieve our aim. If you can't come along tomorrow, please send me a direct message and I will send you further details

Lovely to meet so many people yesterday who are keen to be involved. Eager crocheters and knitters from Tottenham, the Ladder, Stoke Newington and Crouch End all turned up to start making squares. If you 'd like more info about our plans, please send me a direct message and I'll send you the handout. Thanks! Jacqui

Have you talked to Nest, the knitting shop on Weston Park?  http://www.handmadenest.co.uk/ I sometimes work as staff cover in the shop and it's lovely.  It sounds like their kind of thing.  Give them a call on 020 8340 8852 or pop in and speak to Amy.  They also sell knitting bunting kits...

Anyway, I'm keen to take part!

Hi Sarah,

Yes, I've already  emailed Amy about the project. Have also just sent you the current information sheet and will add you to my email list. We'll be holding a flash crochet/knitting event in a Crouch End pub just after Easter so hope you will be able to come along
