When I last travelled on the Gospel Oak to Barking line (this afternoon) there were two sets of tracks.

I wrote above "work on the Gospel Oak to Barking electrification (including the East Coast link with GO to B line) will take place...."  This means that work will take place on the Goblin line and the link between the Goblin line and the East Coast line.  The link might only require one pile etc., but this stretch of work is very short compared to the main piece of work which will require two piles every 50 meters.

I perhaps erroneously assumed that the Harringay Curve was closer to you than the East Coast Main Line (ECML) or the Tottenham & Hampstead Line, so work on it would be the noisiest as far as you were concerned. I think that the contractor will concentrate on Harringay Curve during this Christmas possession and will consider any piles put in between Crouch Hill tunnel and Harringay Green Lanes as a bonus.

I must admit we at BGORUG are surprised and pleased at the rapid progress being made, the contact was only signed on 28 September, and we expected no serious work until next June when the section east of South Tottenham is to close, followed by the rest of the line in September. The line is expected to reopen in early 2017.

The Harringay Curve is just one part of the timetabled work which covers the that part of the line from Gospel Oak to South Tottenham.

Timetable as in letter:

Gospel Oak area - 25 December - 1am till 12 midday

Gospel Oak to Upper Holloway - Sunday 27th / Monday 28th - 8am to 8pm

Crouch Hill to South Tottenham - Sunday 27th / Monday 28th - 8am to 8pm

East Coast Mainline connection with Gospel Oak to Barking line - Monday 28th to Boxing Day (sic) [presume this means New Years Eve of New Years Day] - 8am to 8pm

With further work on Sunday 24th and 31 January.

This is what the Barking - Gospel Oak OHLE will probably look like when its finished.

Anyway, thanks Glenn. Oh, and eventually it will be quieter.
