Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Is it just me or are the dodgy groups hanging around the station getting worse?

I received some police marketing a while ago stating the issue was being "tackeled", and yet there are groups of guys out there blatantly dealing/taking drugs in broad daylight, with seemingly no fear that they may be arrested.

What can we do to make sure that the decent people of Turnpike Lane are not ignored?

Yes, it's a huge job. Unfortunately I've noticed a lot more drug transactions moving down the ladder streets and it's gotten louder down my street at the passage. I've called 101 a bunch of times and I suppose that's all I can do.
Yes, the police on the streets are working tirelessly, as are the council workers cleaning the streets. My comments are directed to the decision makers. The people doing the actual work need more backing/help/resources.
Are the council and police actually doing much? If so are they able to let us know? To be honest it just seems a lot of platitudes and non commitments

Exactly I never see police patrolling round here!

I see them in cars only. I've had to chase them down before to tell them where I saw some dealers hiding their stash. The police thanked me but left moments later.
It's much more fun (and far less dangerous) to zip up and down green lanes with the lights and sirens on ;)
In all seriousness when you see cars pulling up and offloading probably 30 bags of crack and swapping them for huge amounts of money, you do wonder what the police are doing.

I bet that people on here could clearly tell the police where the drugs are hidden. In fact I expect they know - they just don't act

We've had huge issues with drug dealing next door (we live in SoTo). I called 999 when the dealers were on site for about 20 minutes. Police didn't even bother calling back or doing anything. I also discussed the matter with the Safer Neighbourhood Team on a number of occasions and reported the issue whenever I saw it to 101. The dealer was trading in bright daylight in front of me and my 3 year old son with my neighbour and none of them seemed to care! I feel we do get ignored a lot. Yes, there might be a lack of resources, but there's enough on other ends, it's a matter of how you spread it.

The litter problem here on West Green Road has been getting worse and worse, too.

I have now started a Twitter account. Follow me and use this to voice your opinion on the crime in the area. Maybe it will be a platform for the decent people of the area to voice their concerns.

Good idea Sofia!

Ah you followed me. I'm not "decent people" and I don't think you should describe yourselves that way either.

Seems like our tweets and chat is working, 3 PCSO's outside the station tonight.

Lets continue to complain each time we see dodgy dealings going on until they decide its not worth dealing in this area anymore.
