I recently bought a couple of things from Amazon. Now, it seems that Amazon has installed something called Amazon Assistant on my computer and whenever I open Internet Explorer a page pops up telling me how useful it is and how to use Amazon to the fullest.
It seems to slow my computer down significantly and I imagine the application is watching everything I type so that if I mention " kitchen " it will know to send me advertisements for frying pans and plate racks.
I've tried to remove the application via Control panel but it keeps coming back saying Assistant has been successfully installed. Anybody got any tips on how to get rid of it permanently ?

Hi. You also need to remove the Amazon Assistant from the Internet Explorer's browser settings. Michaels link has details under Manual Removal ---then IE tab,
If you install Chrome browser, this has a useful "incognito" browsing facility.
However, what ever you do on your computer, someone or something is monitoring every single thing you do ! Just one example : your ISP is compelled by law to save all your internet activity for years.
