Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Jazz at The Salisbury Presents - Sunday 8th of March - Let Spin and Woolf/Goller/Button/ Dorcik

Some great bands in the Salisbury on Sunday night........

Let Spin
Formed in 2012, Let Spin is a collective that forges the progressive post-jazz scenes of London and Manchester. The band brings together four top genre-crossing instrumentalists from around the UK: bassist Ruth Goller (Acoustic Ladyland), saxophonist Chris Williams (Led Bib), guitarist Moss Freed (Moss Project) and drummer Marek Dorcik. Just two months after their first rehearsal and subsequent UK tour the band recorded their eponymous debut album, released in February 2014 on the Manchester-based Efpi label.

Musically egalitarian, the band’s output is varied without being wayward, diverse without feeling unfocused – riffs and grooves rub shoulders with rowdy free playing and softer melodies, and despite the imaginative mixture of ideas there’s a cohesive element between the musicians that ties the overall sound together. It is this unique and winning formula that has rallied critics and electrified audiences around the country. With an extensive Jazz Services and Arts Council England-supported tour behind them, a second recording in the pipeline and upcoming European festival appearances, there is a momentum behind Let Spin as they become ever more renowned as a technically-brilliant, raucous and refreshing live act.
