Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We recently dined in a delightful new restaurant which has opened in premises at 10 Priory Road previously occupied by Munna Cafe.  The Restaurant calls itself TEN.  The menu is imaginative, the cooking and service are both excellent and their prices reasonable.  I think the place deserves support and encouragement.  It positions itself as British so if you fancy a change from our local fare, this place is a good bet.  Web site:  http://www.ten-hornsey.co.uk/

Sounds good Dick, was there a French Bistro at the same premises years ago?, the website doesn't have a menu yet so I'd be interested in what you ate, or was on offer in the way of 'British' food.

I believe you are right that there was once a French eatery called Le Cadre on that spot but I don't recall trying it.  I see from Google that a Vietnamese restaurant called Phong-Hai once operated there also.

My recollection of our TEN experience is that the menu was newly created, quite short (because all dishes are cooked to order) and attentive to detail.  We shared a starter which consisted of grated courgettes made into patties and fried.  I followed this with a "Barnsley lamb chop" with vegetables that included beetroot.  Trudy had a steak with vegetables that included celeriac mash. I think the wine was Malbec but my powers of detailed recollection are fading fast.  I was much impressed by their style and the ambiance.
