Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Sunday 7 June will be a busy day with Harringay Open Gardens and the Crouch End Festival. But why not make a day of it and visit our garden at 11 Park Avenue North N8 7RU, which is opening for charity in the National Gardens Scheme from 11am to 5.30pm. It's full of exotic plants such as aloes, palms, agaves and banana, all thriving in Hornsey. There'll be lovely cake too!

So is Harringay Open Gardens different to the National Gardens Scheme?

Harringay Open Gardens is a community organised initiative for local people to visit each others' gardens. The National Garden Scheme is, as it says, a national programme that has been running for many years, where a small entrance fee is charged to raise money for charities such as Macmillian and Parkinson's UK. Both very worthwhile, different schemes.

Thanks Liz, I see that one of your neighbours also has their garden open on the same day:

Linnette Ralph’s Garden at 12 Warner Road

2-6pm. There will be tea and cakes and a plant sale (which will be outside the house on the pavement as last year)

Liz Roberts' garden at 11 Park Avenue North

11am -5.30pm  This garden is an unusual T-shape and is full of exotic plants such as aloes, agaves, palms and bananas.

Yes, and I think there's a couple of other NGS gardens in the Crouch End area open that day too.
