Squirrel with no tail

We've just spotted a squirrel without a tail happily feeding in our garden. She was even being chased by another squirrel and I don't think it was because of her lack of tail.

Poor little thing, I wonder what had happened to her.

Excuse the bad photos, dirty double glazed windows got in the way.

Poor thing--and what's worse, she can't re-tail without a licence.
