Like today, various residents associations and friends of certain parks probably opposed it!

....which led to to seek out a bit more on Harringay's 1920's ski slope on which I dug up this old film back in 2008. Here's what the Yorkshire Post and Leeds Intelligencer had to say about it on 4th December 1928.
