Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi... I'm in search of a local group exercise class, in an evening after 8pm. My ideal would be on a Monday. Something aerobic (i.e. not yoga or Pilates). Ideally within a 15min walk from my house on Falkland Road.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm being very specific so don't feel you have to meet all of these criteria (apart from it must be after 8pm). I could drive to somewhere like Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Tottenham... Thanks.

There's the dance studio near Turnpike Lane that offers adult ballet classes amongst other things. Not necessarily on Mondays though. https://www.omnida.co.uk/timetable/

You could come to GoodGym. We are a very social running group. We run to do volunteering work with other local organisations. On Wednesday we ran to Broadwater Farm to polish all of the trophies in their cabinet. We're all abilities, we never leave anyone behind and once you start coming regularly, the running fitness builds very quickly and you'll no longer be with me at the back of the pack (I'm usually the designated tail runner).

We run from Tottenham Green Pools & Fitness on Wednesday nights, meet at 6:45pm.

I recommend Mayfield circuits - 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Wednesday or 9.30 to 10.30 a.m. every Saturday at Hornsey Vale Community Centre (http://www.hornseyvale.org) - £7 per class. I usually go on Wednesdays.

We may not use machines or play music, but what we do do is use a variety of basic gym equipment such as weights, benches, medicine balls, dumbbells and mats.  Our innovative and qualified trainer Lance, changes the exercises every month and makes sure that we never get bored and that every bit of us gets a thorough workout.  The session finishes with 10 minutes of stretching which always does me a power of good.
The good news is that because you work at your own pace it doesn’t matter what age you are or how fit you are (or aren’t!) - we can help you to become fitter and more flexible, and above all, to enjoy doing it.  You can build up your strength and stamina as you progress, and the only person you are in competition with is yourself.
