Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Does anyone know what has happened to this pub at the top of Hornsey High Street?

Why? What's happened to it ?
Shut and boarded up - skip outside etc.

A quick bit of googling finds these posts about it being taken over by Fullers so it's probably closed for refurbishment:

The flask, the holly bush and the Great Northern Railway Tavern, my god that's a nice set of pubs. If they're your last top trump cards, you're not going to lose in a hurry.

Fullers' are doing a full refurbishment including talking the kitchen upstairs. It won't look that different from before - just a reinstatement of fixtures etc..and clean up. The beers will largely by from other brewers rather than Fuller's. Destination beer bar.

It's actually going to be VERY different. There will be flats upstairs, and so the live music is being stopped. The open back room which has hosted so many live acts, parties, gatherings etc will become fixed seating. Yet another venue lost.

Oh no, that's tragic. Fullers, have also had really crap healthy options menus for all pubs all January as well. No individuality it seems.

Some slightly inaccurate reporting in this thread...

It reopens this weekend after extensive refurbishment...  it's now a two floor proposition (not just the kitchen)... so pretty massive... it will still have live music and they have apparently done out the garden too...

According to a job advert I saw, they are planning on making their Sunday Roast the best in the area..

It seems to me they have done, what has been a beautiful but neglected pub, a massive favour and restored it to it's former glory...  and maybe they sorted out that weird entrance to the toilets by walking through behind the bar when there is a function on...

I'm confident it's gonna be quite some pub again... but let's wait and see..
