Most people want to help others affected by incidents, man-made or natural disasters, but few will have the basic skills required. When I initiated and ran the Islington Red Cross Welfare Centre, we had various courses in which immediate aid, trauma care etc were taught but I know that both the Red Cross and St John's do short courses, too. Because many people will attend the Crouch End Festival, I asked if it would be possible to insert this in their programme; I know my email was read but I haven't had an answer and do think we need to offer people this training as soon as possible in the current situation. What do other Crouch Enders-and people generally in Haringey think?
