Haringey cyclists are invited to adorn their bikes with flowers to recreate the floral bicycle parade that took place in the borough in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain. The parade takes place on Sunday 28 August 2011. Cyclists will be setting off from Bruce Castle Museum at 2pm and heading to the Southbank where they can join other cyclists on a circuit around the Southbank Centre.
The parade is being revisited as part of the Mayor of London’s Story of London festival, which this year celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Festival of Britain.
