Jeremy Lyons is an alumnus of Middlesex University, where he studied saxophone under Mark Lockheart. His first quartet album, ‘Vestige’, was released in 2013, and was followed three years later by ‘The Promise of Happiness’, featuring material written for an 11-piece band.
Tonight’s gig will showcase a selection of original tunes, from rock-infused funk to laid-back waltzes, beguines to latin.
"An engaging and varied set of original compositions are enhanced by some first rate arrangements and the playing is superb throughout....(Lyons) impresses with his power, imagination and fluency...demonstrating his abilities on soprano with a slippery solo.... He more than holds his own in this illustrious company.” Ian Mann
Jeremy Lyons (tenor sax), Ben McDonnell (guitar), Amy Baldwin (double bass), Daniel Harding (drums)
Doors open 7pm, music starts 8pm.
Tickets: £10 otd, £8 in advance, £5 students
