From Meetup (See link above):
Kite Flying is a very old Asian tradition, which began in China some 3000 years ago.
In modern day, kite flying is a big part of Indian tradition where a sky full of kites can be seen on - Makar Sankranti (January), Rakhi (August). Similarly, it's a big craze in Pakistan as well where it is on its peak during the spring season (around Jashn-e- Bahara)
Kite flying is great fun! Its easy and can be quite competitive !! Nevertheless, the joy of seeing your kite flying high is priceless :)
So, calling you guys for an evening of Kite Flying then. Let's call it our little Kite Flying Festival !
I know it can be a pain for you to arrange the kites, thread and DIY set up.
So, in order to make things easy - I'll try to arrange everything and provide you with kites (hopefully ready to fly!) for a small fee (tbc).
Location : Hyde Park
(NOTE: moved from Finsbury Park)
