Named after the national bird of Cuba, Trogon make full use of the cultural breath of London’s rich musical landscape: alongside leader and Head of Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, Nick Smart, the bad includes “Troyka” guitarist, Bangladeshi pianist Kishon Khan, Cuban bassist Denny “Jimmy” Martinez, and long establishes London percussionist, Pete Eckford.
The group’s exciting mix of musical backgrounds is enriched by the propulsive rhythmic traditions of Afro-Cuban music and the rich harmonies of contemporary jazz.
