Hi

I'm looking for a guitar teacher, ideally on the ladder or very nearby.

I've been playing guitar on and off for a few years (I have an acoustic). The most complicated things I can play are probably Blackbird and Across the Universe by The Beatles - I'm a big Beatles fan - but I've struggled with the picking on Dear Prudence and would love to be able to play that.

If anyone can recommend a teacher, please let me know!

Thanks,

Jamie

Nat Yelverton Music Tuitiontag:harringayonline.com,2019-09-20:844301:Topic:11940562019-09-20T13:00:39.205ZRBowenhttps://harringayonline.com/profile/RachaelBowen

I just wanted to leave a review for Nat Yelverton. He teaches my 10 year old daughter the piano and he is really good. He is very patient and kind with her and he takes time to understand the sort of music she is interested in playing. This really helps with her enthusiasm for the instrument and she actually looks forward to his lessons, which definitely wasn't the case with her old teacher. He is also very reasonably priced. I highly recommend.

hello everyone. I decided 2 weeks ago to teach myself Guitar, after buying one for my partner 6 years ago that stayed in its case unused ever since. Currently learning on acoustic, but I also have an electric now that was a Christmas present. I’m using an online course which is very helpful, but not as helpful as personal critique.

‘I’m looking for a tutor in the Turnpike Lane area, it doesn’t have to be a professional tutor, just someone with experience that can correct my faults before they develop into habits. Within walking distance of Hampden Rd would be ideal. Mornings preferred as I work evenings, maybe once a week or fortnight.

My name is Jacob and I am a 25 year old London based musician, producer, and DJ. I have studied music since a young age, and have three grade 8s in Piano, Saxophone, and Flute.

I have accrued a fair bit of experience in teaching music, both to young kids and adults. In the year 2016 I worked in a Harringay based music academy and taught not only individual classes to kids, but also group classes too. I am able to guide students successfuly through the ABRSM exam schemes. I have been teaching music privately to individuals since early 2015. References are available upon request. Clean CRB.

Pricing for lessons:

30 minutes - £20
1 hour - £35
1.5 hours - £50

(If there are multiple students interested, this pricing scheme can be used too.)

Please contact me if you have any other enquiries or questions!

My teaching ethos:
My belief, especially when it comes to the younger learners, is that the learning of a musical instrument should be pleasurable, and that the learning environment should be comfortable for the student. I feel that it is vital that in the early stages of learning an instrument that the child does not feel pressured into doing something; this normally ends up with the individual resenting the instrument and the experience. I therefore never pressure an individual into doing something that they don't feel comfortable with, and instead I always look to find an area of the learning that they find the most fun and help to push them more in that direction.
Piano teacher recommendations pleasetag:harringayonline.com,2017-08-07:844301:Topic:10110212017-08-07T07:50:51.609ZNBurrowshttps://harringayonline.com/profile/NBurrows
Hello - I thought I'd ask for local suggestions...

We're looking for a piano teacher that ideally does home visits to teach. Do you know any local teachers? Do any do home visits? How much are lessons typically? We're all beginners - one 5 year old and two parents! All three are keen to learn.

Thanks!
