Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've been ill in bed for a few days and forgot they were closing off my road for sewer cleaning and suspending the parking outside my house today. So I got a ticket - £65 if I pay in 14 days. It's obviously my own fault as the suspension has been clearly marked for days, but there are mitigating circs - is it worth trying to challenge it, or should I just pay up?

Try challenging it. I wish I'd challenged mine. I got two outside or nearly outside my house last year which I think were both wrongly issued. I should have challenged but decided I couldn't be bothered. I wish I'd done so.

I’ve challenged two - one of which I was successful with. Definitely worth a go.

Hope you are on the mend

Always worth trying. I was taken ill while driving on Turnpike Lane and was carted off in an ambulance to the Whittington leaving the car on a yellow line. I sent off details, including admission report to the hospital and the PCN was cancelled.

Always worth challenging.  I got one this year from being a foot over a single yellow line, when I tried to park in the bit covered by my neighbour's cctv after having TWO car windows smashed the same night. I enclosed police reports, Autoglass bills etc.  They cancelled it, with the usual 'you did bad and this is not a precedent' paste-in.

I suspect that even if you have a weak case they tend to let you off as it's extra work for them if you keep going.  Maybe having no previous helps.

PS the 14 day bit is frozen if you appeal within  that time.

I've had tickets before on this street, but they were erroneously issued and therefore cancelled. (There's a defunct 'disabled' space which confuses the wardens.)
