Wood Green, St Ann's, Muswell Hill and Stroud Green & Harringay libraries are now open, restricted hours and service though.

St Ann's and Muswell Hill both have 'Basic Accounting' by Randall Stott on their shelves at 657/BAS.

I’m not sure you can request books at the moment though, at least that is what I understood from yesterday’s announcement

Ah, yes.  I took "let us know what you like to read" to mean one could nominate a subject e.g. accountancy or crime fiction. The online form gives categories of increasing reading ages (2 to adult) then adds drop-down menus so one can be more specific; Justin could strike lucky after all. I gave the specific book title as an example of what they could find for him.

Thanks, I thought I saw they were all closed when I looked this morning, appreciate the heads up.

Had a look, and given that Sainsbury's cannot make an appropriate substitution on my groceries I will work on the assumption that nether can the library service sadly.

Don't know why a trained librarian cannot find and pick a specific book. Shame.

This https://www.haringey.gov.uk/covid-19/council-services#lib

suggests there is a "grab and go" option, which I take to mean if you know the shelf number you can just grab the book.  The link also shows library opening times .

Ah ha!  Lets see.... Thanks, did not see that.

Just had a chat at the library and at the moment the online system for reservation is frozen because the carrier system between libraries isn't up and running yet and not all libraries are open, but from what I understand you can go down to the library that you know the book is in (by checking the catalogue) and ask them to get it off the shelf for you. It does seem that library staff are having to adapt pretty quick to the this but they are keen to help.

Bearing in mind our chat earlier in the year (seems like eleventy billion years ago now!) is it really Accounting for Dummies you need, or do you want Bookkeeping for Dummies? If the latter, you can borrow mine plus another bookkeeping textbook I've got.

Ha. I think it may help to start with Bookeeping Bethany. I completely forgot you had it. I will give you a shout and pop up tomorrow if that works. Thanks.

We'll be at the brewery most of the day, but should be back by about 6 if you can pop up in the evening?

The wife often tells me there's no accounting for dummies.
