Wood Green/Tottenham mums and dads. Anyone interested in baby classes at the Lordship Rec?

Hello local mums and dads,

Would you like more baby activity classes in the Wood Green/Tottenham area (beyond drop in’s)?

As a mum of an 8mth old I have found it really difficult to find any classes in my local area (Wood Green) and always have to travel to Crouch End or Stokey or Palmers Green etc.

I was at the fantastic new Eco Hub café in Lordship Rec the other day. It is a wonderful space to hold baby classes and the lovely people who run it are keen to attract more people and support this brilliant new local hub.

I have already been contacted by the fab people who run rucksack music about holding a class at the Lordship Rec but they need to know if there is enough interest: www.rucksackmusic.co.uk

If you would be interested about the possibility of attending baby classes at the Lordship Rec please do get in touch and let me know. If there are enough people interested I am happy to try and source various baby activities for the centre or hey maybe we can even run a few activities ourselves.

Many thanks

Michelle

I think this is a great idea. I'm not a mother myself but saw a mother and baby group at the new Kaberet Restaurant in Wood Green on Thursday. There were quite a few, as well as a lady who was blowing bubbles and the babies just loved it. The mothers were sat around in a circle watching and chatting with each other while their babies crawled around fascinated by each other. It was a lovely sight. Think there was some singing too. Anyway, think this is a great idea especially for new mothers and hope something comes together :) Taz
Thanks for letting me know Taz that sounds great, might go check it out. Will keep you posted. Not sure if I will get much of a response but fingers crossed.

I think it's a great idea and definitely lacking in the area. There is a mother and baby group in the Hub already but contrary to what the co-op says it is a childminding business and not very stay and play or the like and not very open to the community.

Hi Leslie, yes that is what another mum who was in the hub with me was saying, so it would be great to get another group going. Do you know other mums in the area who might be interested?

I do know quite a few! I think it would work!

Hi. I think it's a great idea. I'd be keen on a toddler music/dance class as my girl is already two!
But if any more bubbas come along for me would definitely do baby classes there.
Let me know if anything develops.
Cheers.

Yep, I'd be interested. Would be good to have some provision there for babies & younger children.
That's great! Thanks Abi. Would you also know some other mums who maybe interested?

I'm sure there'd be heaps of interest.  I've got a 3 month old & often meet other mums at Downhills/the Rec.

That's great to hear. I don't know many mums in this area as my Nct was in Finsbury Park so great to hear people are interested. If I can gather enough interest I am hoping I can persuade people who run baby classes to come to the lordship rec.

Did you know there is a Tottenham branch of NCT? Might be useful asking them.

No I didn't that's a great idea thanks
