Beat Ahoy! Project with Park View students

Park View students were involved in a project called Beat Ahoy. They explored their heritage and contribution of black people to maritime history and how they preserved it for future generations. Students met once a week for workshops on building their research and media production skills. The project included trips to the National Maritime Museum and the London Metropolitan Archives. As well as historical research the primary aim was to record first hand testimonies with black mariners.
