Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Walking home on West Green Road last night I saw the shutters up on what was the stylish Italian restaurant, Buonissimo, that shut last year...

Getting closer I noticed a sign (picture attached) saying it's to reopen on the 1st October - the owners list themselves as Anima e Cuore...

Being nosey (and excited that there will be a cool restaurant at the end of my road again) I googled the names... apparently Anima e Cuore is a very successful Italian in Kentish Town with rave reviews...

Now it's not confirmed it's the same people but I reckon it's more than likely.

What with the Nile having a complete refurbishment and reopening as a Bulgarian restaurant at some point in September as well as the old faithful Autograf still pulling in the punters, all of a sudden the Turnpike Lane end of West Green Road is bursting into life.

Can you tell I'm excited!

Hi, Sarah.

Your post reminded me that I'd meant to post earlier. There was activity around the side earlier on today. So I stopped to chat. I was told they were opening on Tuesday but as more of a restaurant and less of a coffee bar.

There was a huge do at the Nile a few days back, queues around the corner. I couldn't quite make out what was going on. Some preliminary function or party. But it too seems about ready to open properly.

Yeah they seem to be completely gutting that little bar. It looked cosy enough as it was but they must have some new plans for it.

Life on the West Green Road eh.

More of a restaurant sounds good to me!

A restaurant is fine too, though I never used the old restaurant, but what I really liked was being able to pop in during the day just for a coffee and maybe a cake.

Went in on Friday! Amazing meal. Mustapha had a good chat to us about the fact we could order any variation of food due to the fact all the ingredients for the main restaurant, were prepared here.

£60 for 2 starters, 2 mains and a nice bottle of wine. Winner Winner.

I meant to update! I was there on Friday too.  I'm going to blog about it though I have no internet at home right now so that will have to wait.

I had spaghetti with clams and broccoli and my friend had a quattro stagione pizza.  I think it was a cut above Buonissimo.  And the scoop of house made caramel ice cream we shared for dessert was heavenly.

I think it was around £45 for our two mains, dessert, a Coke and a couple of Aperol Spritz.

We've been too - it's great, I mean really great. The venue's had a subtle but effective make-over, the staff were lovely & attentive & the food was delicious. The chef also came over & offered to cook us whatever we wanted & made me an off-menu vegetarian meal. It's not just pizza on the menu, there's lots of grown up dishes! It's open in the evenings (an earlier post on here implied it wouldn't be open but it is), their phone line hadn't been installed when we went so we had to pay cash & it was fine going in with our 3 year old. Please make an effort to go here HOL people, it's a great addition to West Green Road.

Popped in last weekend. We had a margarita and a quattro formaggio, granted they're pretty plain pizzas, but they were exceptional. Highly recommended - will be our first choice for pizza.

I always say you can judge a pizza place on the strength of its margarita.

That said, I can't wait for Loven to open in their new location - not least because I think I'll be in their delivery radius then!!

Went last night. Was great!! Here is the menu- probably changes though. They are only closed for a few days over Christmas too which is good!!
