Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I've just received (at 5:35pm today) notice from the council that the Frobisher bench must be removed within 48 hours.

Sadly despite our trying they have refused to engage in any meaningful discussion on what we could do to keep it there. Some kudos to John Forde who was tasked with the job of phoning to deliver the news, he didn't sound like it was his favorite job for the week.

We're still talking and i'm hopeful, so i'd rather not post all the emails about it for now while thats still on going. But the council seems keen to work with FoHP to find ways to help with this and the other things we've been talking about doing. I'll post back with progress...

Makes excellent sense, Ant. In the meantime Zena and I went to the location of the Once and Future Bench.  We found someone else visiting this important and historic site - who agreed to take a photo with us. You can still see the white line on the wall. Thanks to Phil K who reached for the Canon.

A garden gnome instead of a garden bench - brilliant idea!

Looks like a perfect spot for a bench. Why didn't Haringey think of it - or agree to it.

It seems Haringey's main aim is to teach someone a lesson before reaching a sane solution.

In case people reading this have missed it, Patrick, there's what seemed to me a thoughtful and balanced discussion on the bench question here - prompted by Ant; and with other people chipping in.
