Carpenter - build and install 'floating' shelves?

Hello all Harringay-ers,

Would any of you know of a good carpenter? We would need him/her (21st Century and all...) to build (source the wood/cut to size/paint and install) 8 shelves for us.

All recommendations appreciated.

Matthew Pearce 07791 597184. He did some beautiful floating shelves for me a couple of years ago.

Hi 

I am looking for a carpenter to build a small garden storage shed from scratch.  The space we have is too narrow for an off the shelf shed. Any recommends or advice on that?

I have used Eoin McCarthy before & he was very good.

He installed a kitchen worktop for me & built bespoke shelving for a friend.

Some great suggestions, I've taken note of, but for the DIYer's try Thomerson's Timber, (Jessop's sold Jessop's Hardware and bought Thomerson's many years ago, the hardware shop still carries their name,) their on Middle Lane, Crouch End, (they will even cut your timber/MDF provided there are no nails.) I usually get my glue here too. General Woodwork, Stoke Newington, High Street, good for most things DIY. All gentleman and family businesses, not many about. For special size screws, stainless steel or whatever, Clerkenwell Bolts and Screws every time on the 341 route past Sadler's Wells Theatre on Clerkenwell Rd.

Remember measure twice cut once....enjoy!

Ended up with Francesco and made the right choice! Very conscientious , reliable and a nice guy. He built, painted and installed 8 shelves plus hung a couple of things, it looks amazing.
