Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Cast of David's ear from the statue by Michel-Angelo £20

The British Museum Ltd produced a series of casts, this was one of them. The ear is cast in a resin and is an exact copy of the original statue ( 25cmx17cmx12cm).

The cast is in good condition, a little dirty ... i think it's best not to clean it.

Is this the post-renaissance equivalent of the mediaeval racket in "holy foreskins" and such multiple relics for the gullible? Who knows what will turn up next week in HOL's For Sale / Want to Buy Fagan's Den of Dubious Antiquities?  [Please note my cautious spelling of Fagan. He was an ancient fellow-countryman of mine, of course.]
