Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi,

I live on Fairfax Rd and I can hear in my backyard a cat that's been meowing loud sort of whining for hours now. It starts and stops but it's always there.

My garden is between Fairfax Rd and Effigham Rd and it's around the middle area, like between 20s and 60s as house numbers.

If you see this message and you live there please take a look in your garden. The animal might need your help.

Hi Tony - any updates on this cat?

Thanks

Hi,

I think I have heard it once more yesterday afternoon then it stopped. It sounds like it's coming from the odd numbers of Effigham Rd around 30s - 40s. To be honest it's impossible to tell if it's something to be worried about but I can definitely say I have never heard such insistent meowing in 3 years

The worry of course is that the kitty might be stuck in someone's shed or similar :(

This is worrying, I hope it’s not dead. I think I would have put notes through doors asking folks to check, Listening to animal in distress that long would’ve sent me over the edge... even if nothing to be worried about better to check.  My cat was trapped in someone’s extension Friday night and we could hear him meowing luckily the people in the house heard him and let him out.

Could it be an unspayed female cat on heat?

I think I could see that cat from my windows when it was yowling, and it looked like it was just crying to get let in through a window - it was let in eventually. It didn’t look injured, just insistent, although I agree it was crying for hours

This is encouraging and tallies with my experience. The meowing wasn't muffled like when coming from a shed or somewhere indoors. It sounded like it was somewhere outside.

Thanks for your replies

As Tony said, that's good to hear. Thanks all for keeping an eye (and ear) for kitekats
