There's been plenty on here about disposal of trees.

Use the search facility/

Oh to save you the bother -

http://www.haringey.gov.uk/environment-and-waste/refuse-and-recycli...

The search facility brings up 3 results for 'Christmas tree disposal': one from 2008, and the two (now 3) replies to this thread. 'Christmas tree' brings up more results, but on the first page, there's nothing about options for disposal. The search facility is the worst thing about this site. I avoid using it as it's so frustrating.

That's how I found the link

Carol, have you tried using the Google-powered search option - home page left hand column towards the top. It works as well as Google works and is my normal search tool for HoL.

You can also use tags added under posts to find other postings on similar topics. Ideally, people play their part and add them to help other users - but since we don't live in an ideal world, we sometimes tag posts for popular subjects. Christmas tree recycling posts are tagged.

To answer the OP's question, we've always (for the last 19 years) put our tree into the front garden. It's been collected without fail every year. We've never chopped it up - but we don't ever have very big trees.

Thanks for this Carol.

Appreciated.

Do you need to ask the council to collect it?

Or is it just done automatically?

We literally put the tree in the front garden (usually on the 6th/7th) and they come and take it. I've never let them know. We're not on the ladder, but off St Ann's Rd - which may make a difference?

Info is right here: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/environment-and-waste/refuse-and-recycli...

I live on an estate though so I don't have a green waste collection.  The nearest place I can take it to is Downhills Park, but I'm struggling to find out exactly where in Downhills Park to take it.  I actually walked around the whole park today but didn't see anywhere that looked like a Christmas tree collection point.

It's some distance for me to drag this thing so I want a bit more info before I attempt it!!  Does anyone know where in Downhills Park I need to take it?
