Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Council to Hold 'Community Conversation' in Harringay on Monday
With a stellar three days notice, the Council has sent out a notice of a 'community conversation' in Harringay on Monday.
The meeting is to be run by Councillor Mark Blake (Cabinet Member for Communities and Equalities). Its aim is to 'discuss concerns about youth violence in the area and initiatives to address the situation'.
The purpose of community conversations (which take place around Haringey) is apparently to listen to the community, have 'forward conversations' (whatever they might be), 'explore partnership working and 'pick up any issues that require a focus for subsequent follow up conversations'.
I'm attaching a copy of a page from Haringey's latest Community Strategy (2015) which I think speaks to the events.
These 'community conversations' started earlier this year in Tottenham and we're told that they have been successful in 'initiating discussions about local opportunities and ways to work closely with members of the community as well as local organisations'.

I can't see the link unfortunately, but what I would say as the parent of older teenagers living on the Harringay Ladder (as opposed to the wider Haringey area) is that they are more in danger from adults trying to sell them drugs, feeling intimidated coming home at 8 pm from a friend's house, witnessing adults openly smoking crack (I assume from what I am told) on doorsteps etc.

I have herd of people putting up Warning that Smart Water Security Sprays in Use
Then using a Garden Water Spray, with just water, Herd it Works
Property next to me used to be a regular drug Drop, He put up a Fence High enough to deter Dealers. Plus broken glass where they used to try and bury it
