If you remember a while ago I advised that we were trying to get disabled parking bays outside a disabled blue badge holders residence designated to that blue badge holder, as opposed to any blue badge holder using it.
I can now advise that this has now been approved by Haringey Council and the scheme to convert the existing bays will start shortly.
I would like to thank all the councillors involved in approving the change but especially a big thank you to Cllr Seema Chandwani for all her hard work the last few months in getting this through.
This change will help so many disabled people in trying to live a normal life allowing them to go out more freely without worrying where they will park when returning home.
On behalf of all disabled blue badge holders thank you Cllr Seema.
Will there still be unassigned disabled bays that any disabled person can use ?
Hi John yes there will. These designated bays are only those put outside blue badge holders home not those in areas of interest like shops and so forth. However in case you are not aware blue badge holders can park in any resident or visitors bays free across all of Haringey.
Oh wow, that is SUCH good news. A huge 'Thank you' to all who have brought this about. It will make a big difference.
That's excellent news. Nice to see the Council doing something right!
