Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Anyone know where I can pick some elderberries locally? I want to make cordial for the winter (lots of vitamin C!).

I tried Railway Fields but the two small trees I could find had no fruit (neither did the wild plum trees or cherry, which used to fruit well...)

Saw some on the Heath a week or two ago, but closer would be nice.

Thanks.

Parkland walk has some trees.

Thanks I'll take a look.

I did notice some recently but I think I was on a bus so it could have been anywhere . . . will keep a look out. If you are willing to share the recipe that would be great, I made some years ago and have forgotten how!

I would have thought that it is too late in the year for most wild fruit now. The large elder tree outside my house lost all its berries weeks ago, and I did my picking of wild plums in July and August. You might be lucky and find a few damsons or blackberries, though it's getting late even for those. However, there's still plenty of time to pick sloes, so could still have some sloe gin by Christmas!

Too late I'm afraid, my elder berries were ripe three weeks ago, picked damsons ( jam) in railway fields over a month ago! Even the sloes are very early tho still some in Clissodpld.
