Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Going past the park yesterday and looking at the closed off area and it seemed a lot bigger than previous years (and the fence more substantial). I don't remember it going so far towards Manor House in the past, and maybe a bit further north.

Is it bigger than previously or am I imagining this?

I reckon a satellite image would have been better as there is a whole lot of hedgerow and hill you're not highlighting . , the baseball ground is pretty much out of use at weekends and the American Gardens running up Endymion Rd is barbecue city and impossible to play football on. Kids can't cycle on the busy roads either unlike the area taken up by the festival. The bridge leading to Oxford Road is closed from 4pm so my son and I have to walk home along the horrible Rd rather than through the park. All in all its a bit of a pain in the arse. Nevertheless, I guess the money comes in good and they have finally put parking restrictions on Lothair Rd South North and the adjoining roads. Is going to rain over the next few weeks?
Hi,

If you're specifically looking for a park in which your kids can cycle, you might want to check out the cycle park at Downhills park.

It's at Lordship Rec which is even further north. It is good but unfortunately people there with their kids tend to walk in the cycle paths which sort of defeats the object... anyway, off topic..

Oh yeah durr, they have blurred into one park in my head. They're a great resource.
Sadly a bit to far away and too many roads to get there...
That time of year again. I have to say I wish they were putting on some half decent music. Looking up the line up this year as posted through my letter box warning me. It seems to be mostly rap music. Maybe im just getting old but really... i dont get it
As for affecting people's 5k run in the park. Well I'm finding I'm doing different routes round than usual. It's good to mix it up
It will all be over before we know it

yeah in all fairness I think the lineup for this years Wirelss is absolutely crap.

definitely more intersting than the 2 days of mumble rap they've got on next weekend

Priory Park is pretty ace for kids to whip around on bikes..

Who really cares?

The park is unattractive during this festival just to make up for cuts to budgets. Tired of this blasted austerity...what a sad state of affairs.

The country has enough money it is just shared out wrongly. People need to revolt!

For anyone bothered by Wireless (and Community) festivals it's worth filling in the form on the Friends of Finsbury Park website: https://www.thefriendsoffinsburypark.org.uk/my-wireless-experience/

I use the park everyday and find Wireless too big and disrupts too many of the usual activities in the park (and 3 consecutive days of noise for people living close by, especially those with small kids, is a lot to bear).  The council should stick to the smaller, less disruptive concerts, like the one at the start of June, for raising funds

It certainly does seem to have grown. I'm guessing that some of it is increased security given the troubles they've had in previous years; there seem to be double layers of fencing at a number of spots. I assume this is reflected in significantly more revenue for the park given that pretty much all of the flat areas are out of commission for large parts of the summer now.

I remember the Fleadh from years back and, although that was sizeable, I don't remember it taking up anywhere near as much space or looking so imposing.
